How I Shop

Shopping for CAMERAS

Shopping can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be difficult for you.

Shopping for cameras and it’s gear can be a lot. There’s many things to consider and many things to learn. We can simplify that process with a few things.

Reliable Websites:
B&H Photo and Video
MPB
Adorama

Good places to look but not always reliable:
FB Marketplace
Ebay

What makes me look at these sites? Well the first three are not only reliable, but they also sell things for market price whereas the other two, you may get a deal on but it’s tricky.

B&H is a site I will always recommend and is honestly the first one I look at. It ships quickly, safely and reliably. The customer support is also fantastic.

Adorama is something I look at when B&H doesn’t have what I want but I have heard that if you were to buy lighting gear on here from Flashpoint/Godox they provide a good warranty. Adorama and B&H are both in-person stores as well for shoppers in New York.

MPB is another place I look especially when it comes to used gear, as some of the things they sell can be pretty decently priced.

FB Marketplace is where is does get tricky. My personal rule of thumb is, if you can’t make the exchange in person then it is not worth it.

Paypal scams run frequently on there. This scam features individuals who will place their items in a location they know they are not located at and they will apologize saying they can actually ship it to you. Worried about the shipping? Paypal’s got you! Paypal has a way to prevent scammers from completely taking your money and will protect the seller and the buyer!

Never believe these scams. BUT remember that FB Marketplace serves as a wonderful tool for sellers near you to sell things they no longer use at typically a wonderful price.

Ebay is very similar, I would be careful people will sell fake versions of cameras too and I wouldn’t buy from any sellers that have no reviews or reviews that seem very suspicious. Look to see what type of things these sellers will sell too as an extra precaution.
